FRISCO, Colo., April 15, 2010 — With less than eight weeks to go until SustainaBiz 2010, the Summit Independent Business Alliance (SIBA) and Our Future Summit are announcing keynote speakers for this year’s event. Taking place June 2, 2010, SustainaBiz will feature Eric Drummond, Partner, Sherman & Howard, Denver and former Mayor, Manitou Springs, and Clark Anderson, Director, Sonoran Institute's Western CO Legacy Program, Glenwood Springs. Drummond will speak on “Bringing Big Initiatives Home, Global, Green Strategies for the Municipal Level”, while Anderson will center his talk on “The Role of Entrepreneurship in Creating Prosperous, Livable Communities.” Like all SustainaBiz 2010, will also include presentations by over a dozen local and regional experts, geared toward community leaders, business owners, and employees — especially, those who care about improving the economic vitality of Summit County through a more holistic, sustainable approach.

SustainaBiz is a homegrown, Summit County-based event promoting profitable, green business practices. Our announcement of his year’s keynotes coincides Earth Day, April 22, 2010, a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the environment and earth-friendly practices.

“We’re excited about the impressive lineup of speakers and workshop leaders we have this year, including our two keynotes who will travel to Summit County to share their know-how and examples with us,” says Katie Roberts, executive director of SIBA (http://www.summitindependentbusiness.com/). “This is a very hands-on, roll-up-your sleeves sort of conference, where people come together to grow their understanding of sustainability and how they can make better use of their personal and professional resources, from doing something as simple and immediate as installing more energy-efficient light bulbs to creating better strategies for hiring and retaining quality employees to looking at what we can do as stewards in our community to effect a greater self-reliance, smart growth, and a conscientious, caring approach to bolstering economic health.”

Sustain-A-Biz will include morning panels featuring local business owners and non-business sector leaders, plus afternoon breakout sessions on marketing, financial incentives to “go green,” the low-down on “green washing” and more. A complete lineup of topics and speakers is available at the SIBA website at http://www.summitindependentbusiness.com/index.php/events/.

Early-bird registration rates are available right now through www.sustainabiz.org. Seating for SustainaBiz 2010 is limited to 100 people, and registration will close at that point. SustainaBiz 2010 tickets are also being sold at High Country Conservation Center’s Earth Day Action Fair, Thursday, April 22, 2010, 6–8:30 p.m., at The Silverthorne Pavilion.

“We want to keep this event somewhat small and intimate to be effective for attendees and sponsors”, says Howard Hallman, president of Our Future Summit (http://www.ourfuturesummit.org/). “It’s highly affordable, thanks to our sponsors and the low registration rates. Ongoing training is a must for any business, and this is certainly one event that provides high quality education and resources, plus the opportunity to network with other business owners and our sponsors for even more ideas.”

SustainaBiz 2010 will be catered by Food Hedz. There will be a post-event networking party at The Backcountry Brewery immediately following the conference. For more details, visit: Sustainabiz  on the web or find info at: The Summit Independent Business site. Any business interested in sponsorship should contact Roberts or Hallman directly.
